Shoegazer Finds: Nancy Zhang / Giia Jewellery

A fashion find for you today from 24 year old illustrator Nancy Zhang who accompanies every Look Book post she makes with a gorgeous illustration of herself in the outfit. I love this idea! And I love her outfits!
Check her out on Look Book and on her Blog.
If, like me, you're a jewellery-magpie, then your eye was probably drawn to the statement necklace seen here in the first and last pictures ... this statement bib necklace is made of felt with gold eyelets and comes from Milan-based Etsy user GIIA. Find the exact necklace here. The GIIA shop has some truly amazing felt jewellery.

Shoegazer Creative: Ele the elephant

Shoegazer Creative:
I made this vintage-inspired elephant decorative toy for a friend's recent birthday. I made the pattern from scratch by looking at how other felt toys were constructed and working to similar shapes and principles, altering the shapes as needed. The most difficult part was the trunk, which came out a little bit wonky but hopefully that just adds to the character and charm of the little elephant!
I hope you like her:

Materials used include:
Wool felt
Embroidery thread
Plastic toy eyes
Stuffing

Gloomy Frogs

Shoegazer Creative:
I made this Gloomy Bear decoration a few months ago. It's made of felt with a ribbon to hang it up by. It was just an experiment project really but I am pleased with the outcome!

This Keroppi plushie was also made a few months ago, again just as an experiment . . .If you would like a Gloomy decoration or a Keroppi, I am in the process of developing a webshop with one of my close friends, so watch this space!

(OvO) - Owls!

Shoegazer Creative:
I made these owls a while ago and intend to make more in the future. They are made of embossed felt, vintage fabric and wooden buttons and hang by a ribbon. Each owl measures approx 14cm from base to ear tip. Two of these three have been given as gifts to friends... the other one, I kept :D (OvO) Hoot!
If you would like an owl, please comment or email for prices etc. Thanks x

Pretty Little Things

These lovely items are by Lori Marie, a self taught textile artist from northern California. You can visit her website, her etsy and her blog if you like the look of these pieces. They make me want to start making felt things again (it's been a while...)
